It is no secret that I am a big fan of any slow cooker that allows you to sear as well as slow cook. The Morphy Richards Accents 48703 is one such slow cooker. The benefits to be able to sear your meat in the same pan means all those delicious juices from the meat don’t get lost and helps to create a richer, fuller flavoured dish. Not to mention there is a lot less pots to wash up!
In addition to the searing, a pot which is safe on the cooker top, also allows you to ‘speed’ your cooking along if needed. For example, if a meal that you thought would be needed at 6pm is required an hour or two earlier you just simply remove the pot from the slow cooker and place onto the hob on a medium heat.
I love that you can colour match your slow cooker to your kitchen and that the colours Morphy Richards have used also match their Accents Range. The slow cooker case colours available are; black, white, red, stainless steal and cream.
Included with the slow cooker is an instruction booklet that contains over 25 recipes. This would help anyone new to slow cooking to get started. It has a range of soups, traditional favourites, curries and desserts.
With regards to it’s size the 3.5litre capacity means it makes very generous portion sizes for 2 people. However if you are cooking something that may be accompanied by side dishes (pasta, potatoes, vegetables) then you may find you can get 4 meals.
This is one of Morphy Richard’s top selling slow cookers and has a rating of 4.8 out of 5 from Amazon customers is incredible. With 835 people rating it and only 4% giving it 3 starts or less I would say this is a very good slow cooker to buy if you are looking for something that sears, looks good, cooks consistently and feeds 2 people.
